Vaccinations

Vaccinations have become a serious debate between parents, pediatricians and the CDC. That said, we have done a lot of research to make the best decision for our children. We embrace natural parenting but know that there are vaccinations for a reason and they do protect to an extent. We repeatedly asked ourselves, "Does the good outweigh the possible risks?". With help from Dr. Sears vaccine book, many neutral websites and the CDC's vaccination information we have decided the following:

2 months - DTaP
4 months - DTaP, Hib, PCV
6 months - DTaP, PCV, Hib
8 months - Hib, PCV
12 months - Hib, PCV
15 months - DTaP
18 months - Hep A
24 months - Hep A, MMR
5 years - MMR, Polio, DTaP
11 years - Varicella, Meingococcal
15 years - Hep B?

**Hib- ActHIB (no aluminum)

With the amount of families who have decided to stay fully un-vaccinated, risks for many of these diseases have risen. There have been many out breaks of pertussis (whopping cough) and even a couple of polio! We understand both sides of the vaccination war. We have decided as an informed family to refuse the flu and Rotavirus vaccines. We are delaying many of the vaccinations for various reasons. We feel that it is important to remember the importance of vaccines while cautiously taking them for the good of our child. Please respect our decisions as we respect yours. Pin It Now!
