Presents, presents and more presents!

This was a week of presents. We received fluff mail (all you cloth diapering mama's no how exciting that is), finished the nursery, received elephants to match and a cute little monkey named Lulu! Not to mention adorable little crochet hats and a free vacation with my parents. Yesterday we also got...

Birth and Beyond

Reading birth stories and watching videos of home births makes me anxious to experience labor again.. I was so scared when I was pregnant about the pain and possibly not being able to handle it. Little did I know it would be the most amazing experience in my life. That feeling when you know you are about to meet your baby, those first moments when you hold your baby, those first few hours/days with the new addition….nothing can top that. I look at Lily now and think about how lucky I am. I think about how that experience changed my life and the pain doesn’t even matter. I know I can handle the pain. I know I did what was best for my little girl and now I can’t wait to experience it again. Pregnancy, labor, birth, they all come with a little pain but the high from all of it is well worth it. Nothing could ever feel better than that first moment you look down and see your little one. When they curl up on your chest then look up at you. That feeling is inexplicably magnificent. Mei Tai Review

The Mei Tai is a cute and comfy Asian inspired baby carrier. After using a Moby Wrap for the first 2 months, I got a little frustrated with how long it took to wear my baby. We started using our Ergo Performance, but my little girl was swimming in it and it wasn't very feminine. Therefore, I decided to try a Mei Tai. I ordered this one from the MarinaN store on Etsy. When I received it I instantly tried it on and loved it! It is very comfortable, even for long term use. It is relatively easy and quick to put on and Lily is so comfortable in it. The padding is thick but not bulky, Not to mention it's cute to boot! Marina (the owner of the store) was very pleasant and easy to work with. Her carriers are affordable and adorable. Her customer service can't be beat. If you are looking for a mei tai, I would recommend buying from her.

Herrington Manor 2011

For our first extended-family trip we went to Herrington Manor State Park in MD. Grandma and Pop-pop had lots of Lily time and mama and daddy had a little bit of a break :)
